The Elegance of Antique Glass

September 24th, 2012 by Lori Gilder | No Comments

If you want to add a touch of elegance and instant character to your home’s interior, antique glass tile is an incredible way to make a statement.  The mirrored surface reflects light in the room, expanding the whole space and at he same time makes the room appear more spacious than it is.  While both of these effects can also be accomplished with regular mirrored surfaces, the personality of antiqued glass creates a sense of warmth and a singular charm.  Its aged appearance gives a room a comforting lived-in atmosphere that is very welcoming to experience.

One of the greatest things about antique glass tile is its versatility.  It can be used in any room as tiling or as an accent feature, and it mixes well with a variety of decorating styles.  It blends well with a vintage or eclectic decor,  fits in beautifully with classic or traditional interiors and helps to balance more modern designs.  Take a look at these beautiful examples for inspiration in  your own home!

You can find antique glass from several sources, but I particularly love the gorgeous appearance of the Visage tile from Ann Sacks.  Jockimo is another favorite of mine, especially because of its versatility in style and size.  I would love to help you find the perfect place in your home for this beautiful antique glass, so feel free to contact us at Interior Makeovers Inc. by calling 310-788-0990 or emailing Lori@InteriorMakeovers.com.
